Native Americans

This week I observed my colleges first lesson plan on Native American tribes and their cultures. For starters, I think they did a great job for being the first group that got thrown into a pact of wolves. They handled the smart board breaking down well, and overall did a fantastic job. I hope that when I go up with my group in two weeks, we are as confident like they were. Unlike the rest of my group members, last semester I had to teach a lesson in front of a 1st grade classroom and hope I nail it again this semester.

Anxious

FIRST DAY OF FIELD WORK!

I guess you could say this week flew by! I had my first day of field work for social studies this week and well it was a bit overwhelming. For starters, I wasn't nervous about the class and the types of students I would have in my classroom but the fact that I wasn't prepared enough to start so fast. I knew 95% of the second grade students before coming in, because I use to work as one of the extension teacher. I have seen these group of kids grow the past few years since they started Kindergarten. It was an honor to be able to come back and see them again. I hope that next week, I am not overwhelmed and nervous about teaching. I hope to make an impact on these second grade students.

The Past, The Present, The Future

The first day of class was beyond overwhelming! For starters, I could not find the classroom. I am a junior in college and felt like a total freshman. Then once we got settled in our class, it went downhill from there. There was so much material being thrown at us at once that I almost had an anxiety attack. I really hope it slows down throughout the rest of the semester. This might be one of the hardest courses I am taking this semester. The worst part is that I am taking six classes this semester and have no time to do anything. I guess this is going to be a rude awaking for me. I hope that the rest of the semester turns out better than the first day of class.

WOW! What a powerful video. I can see why we were assigned to watch this video. I never knew how important technology would be for my future job. The generation of students I will be teaching will be more skilled on the computer than I am.. embarrassing. When growing up, I was never inside the house watching TV or playing video games like my little brothers generation. Instead, I was outside riding my hot pink razor scooter or playing at the park with friends. I really enjoyed this video because it opened up my eyes and I know that this class will help further my knowledge of technology.
